Gifts from Aplington
Aplington is a small town in Iowa, the kind of place where a shirt with the town name on it gets noticed at a county fair, a high school game, or a family reunion in another state. Small-town pride tends to show up in the details: the school, the grain elevator, the street everyone grew up on. A town shirt is how someone who left wears their roots, and how someone who stayed says they're not going anywhere. Because Aplington is a smaller place, you might find that the people you're shopping for already know exactly what it means to them. Add a second line with a year, a family name or a nickname that only locals would get, and the shirt becomes theirs. A mug works well for the kitchen table, and a hoodie is the practical choice for a cold Iowa winter.
