Gifts from Appomattox
Appomattox is a small Virginia town best known as the place where the Civil War effectively ended in April 1865, and most people who carry the name are proud of it. Someone from there might be a longtime local, a county worker, a student who came back, or a former resident who still tells people where they're from. A shirt or mug with the town name is a quiet way to say that. Because the town is small and the name is distinctive, the design itself does most of the work. You can add a second line for a graduation year, a street or a family name, and it turns a souvenir into something that belongs to one person. Hoodies suit the cold months, mugs suit the kitchen where the home-town talk happens, and kids tees are a good way to pass the name down.
