Gifts from Arctic Village
Arctic Village is a small Alaskan community in the Brooks Range, reached mostly by air or by long trips over frozen and gravel ground, so the people connected to it tend to be proud of how remote it is. A shirt with the village name is a way to claim that place, whether the person was born there, has family there, or spent a season working or visiting. Because so few people outside Alaska have heard of it, a shirt with the name also starts conversations. If you're giving a gift to someone who grew up there or moved away, a hoodie is the warmest option for long, cold winters, and a mug suits the kitchen table where they'd want a reminder of home. Add a second line for a family name, a year, or a phrase they'd recognize, and the design becomes theirs in particular.
