Gifts from Benin
Benin is a small country with a big hold on the people who come from it, or married into it, or fell for it on a trip. A gift here is usually about belonging. It might be a Beninese American who wants something to wear to a cultural gathering, a Peace Corps volunteer home from a posting, a student back from a semester abroad, or a grandparent who left Cotonou or Porto-Novo decades ago and still talks about it. French is the official language, so a shirt that pairs Benin with a city, a hometown or a short phrase in French feels personal rather than generic. You can type their village, their family name or the year they arrived in the US on the second line of many designs. Kids and babies can wear it too, which helps when a family wants to match for a reunion or a naming ceremony photo.
Benin gift questions
Can I add a city or village name along with Benin?
Yes. Many designs have a second line where you can type Cotonou, Porto-Novo, Parakou or any hometown, and the preview updates as you type.
Can I put a French phrase on the shirt?
Yes. Type any text you like into the box, including French words or accented letters, and check the preview to make sure it looks right before you order.
Are there Benin designs for kids and babies?
Yes. Benin comes as kids T-shirts in light and dark colors and as a baby onesie, which is handy if the whole family wants to match.
What's a good Benin gift for someone who lived there?
A hoodie or mug with Benin and the year or town they were there. It's a daily reminder of a place that clearly mattered to them.
What sizes do the benin shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a Benin gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
