Gifts from Calcutta
Calcutta is a city with a long, layered history and a name that many people still use when they talk about where they're from or where their family started. A Calcutta shirt often goes to someone who grew up there, has relatives there, or simply loves the city's food, music and street life. Because the city has changed its official name over the years, people who grew up with Calcutta feel a strong attachment to the old name, and a shirt that uses it can mean a lot. A tee or hoodie is a good way to honor that connection on everyday days, and a mug suits the person who starts every morning with chai. If you're buying for someone who moved away, think about the small details: a second line with the neighborhood they grew up in or the year they left can turn a city name into a personal memory.
Calcutta gift questions
Can I add a neighborhood or year to a Calcutta design?
Many designs have a second line. Type the neighborhood, a year or a family name there, and the preview updates so you can check the layout before you order.
Why do some people call it Calcutta instead of Kolkata?
The city was known as Calcutta for a long time, and many people who grew up with that name still use it with affection. Choosing Calcutta on a shirt often signals a personal connection to the older name.
Are there Calcutta designs for kids?
Yes. Kids tees and dark kids tees are available with Calcutta designs, along with baby onesies for the youngest family members.
What sizes do the calcutta shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a Calcutta gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
