Picking a gift for a call taker
Call takers sit at dispatch consoles and answer the calls that come in on the worst days people have. They keep their voice steady, type fast, and send help to the right address while the caller is still shaking. Many work twelve-hour shifts that rotate through nights and holidays, so the gifts they keep are the ones that make the break room feel a little more like theirs. A hoodie for a cold console room, a mug that stays on their desk, a tee for the drive in. What lands best is a shirt that shows you know the job: put the words call taker on it, then add their center or agency name, or the year they started. If you're buying for a whole dispatch floor, one design with each person's name on their own shirt makes a better gift than another round of donuts. Public safety telecommunicators are recognized during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, held in the second week of April, so that's a good time to order.
Call Taker gift questions
Can I add my center's name or a year under call taker?
Yes. Many designs have a second line for a name, agency, or year. Type it in and the preview will show you how it sits under the job title before you order.
Is there a special week for dispatchers?
Yes. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week falls in the second week of April each year, and it's a common time for teams to recognize their dispatchers.
Are there call taker designs for kids?
A few designs come as kids tees, which can be a fun way to show a child what a parent or relative does for work.
What sizes do the call taker shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a call taker gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
