Gifts from Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill is a college town at heart, shaped by the university, its long-running basketball traditions, and the Carolina blue that shows up on almost every porch and car bumper. Plenty of people who live there now went to school there, moved away for work, and came back, and a Chapel Hill shirt is how they claim the place when they're in a conference hallway in another state. It also suits the parents who visit on move-in weekend, the faculty member who's been around for decades, and the friend who finally took a job nearby. A hoodie is the natural pick for the cold months, and a mug works for the transplant who misses the town's small-town feel in a city that's much bigger. Add a second line for a graduation year, a street, or a family nickname, and the shirt starts to belong to one person instead of everyone who has ever driven through.
