Gifts from Charleroi
Charleroi is an industrial city in Belgium's Walloon region, south of Brussels in the Sambre valley, long known for coal, steel and glass. People who grew up there tend to carry it with them, and a Charleroi shirt is how they show it abroad or at home. It's a city with a working-class history and a strong local identity, so a design that just says the name lands with someone who lives there, has family there, or studied or worked there. Add a neighborhood, a year they moved away, or a line about where they're from, and it becomes personal. A mug suits the expat who misses the place on a cold morning, and a hoodie fits the student or relative who spent time in Charleroi and wants a reminder of it.
