Gifts from Chetek
Chetek is a small city in northwestern Wisconsin, and people who grew up there tend to carry the name with them wherever they go. A Chetek shirt is how someone who moved away to the Twin Cities or down to Madison tells the room where they're really from, and how a current resident shows pride at the county fair or a Friday night football game. Because it's a small place, a shirt with the city name and a second line for a year or a street or a school class often means more than a generic souvenir. A Chetek hoodie suits a long northern winter, and a mug on the kitchen counter is an easy way to keep the hometown close. If you're buying for someone who left, think about what they miss most, the lake country, the people, the familiar places, and put that detail on the second line.
