Gifts for Childbirth Educators

Picking a gift for a childbirth educator

A childbirth educator spends their days teaching expectant parents what labor really looks like, how to breathe through a contraction, and when to call the provider. They're often in a dim room with a stack of birth ball cushions, a box of tissues, and a few couples who are nervous in ways they won't say out loud. A gift that acknowledges that work lands well: a tee for the drive to a weekend class, a hoodie for the cold clinic hallway, a mug for the first cup of coffee before a morning session. Put the word on it as their title, and add a line for their credential if they hold one, such as their certifying body's initials, or simply their name. If you're buying for a whole cohort of educators at a practice or a doula collective, the Team Shop lets you use one design with each person's name on their own shirt, so the group photo at the annual training looks like a team.
