Gifts from Coarsegold
Coarsegold is a small foothill town in Madera County, California, tucked along the edge of the Sierra Nevada, so a lot of people who grew up there ended up somewhere else. A Coarsegold shirt is how they say where they're from when the conversation turns to hometowns. It's the sort of place where people know each other, and a shirt with the town name on it fits that: wear it to the county fair, a Central Valley reunion, or a trip back to see family. Small towns like this also tend to have their own pride, so a hoodie for a grad heading off to college or a mug for the parent who stayed behind feels personal. Add a second line for a street, a year or a family name, and the shirt becomes theirs as well as the town's.
