Gifts from Coldfoot
Coldfoot is a small place in the Brooks Range of northern Alaska, a truck stop and airstrip on the Dalton Highway that's known for being cold. Most people who live there, or who passed through, have a story about the cold, the long dark winters, or the drive north. A shirt with Coldfoot on it is a way to claim that story, whether the person is a truck driver who logs the Dalton Highway, a researcher or a former worker who spent a season up there. Because the place is so remote, a Coldfoot gift feels personal in a way a generic Alaska souvenir doesn't. Add the year they were there, or a second line with their crew or the season they wintered over. For someone who's been north of the Arctic Circle, a hoodie is the practical choice, and a mug is the one they'll reach for every morning while they remember it.
