Gifts from Delhi
Delhi is a city of layers: old Mughal monuments, crowded bazaars in Old Delhi, leafy colonial avenues in New Delhi, and a metro system that moves millions of people every day. A Delhi-born person who now lives abroad often carries that mix of chaos and warmth with them, and a shirt with Delhi on it is a quick way to say where they're from. Chai at a roadside stall, the smell of the Yamuna in the monsoon, the sound of a cricket match on a rickshaw radio, these are the things that bring them back. A Delhi tee works well for someone who loves the city and wants to wear it on a weekend walk, while a mug suits the morning chai habit that started in those streets. For a Delhi graduate heading off to college or a first job elsewhere, a hoodie with the city name feels like a keepsake they can take along. You can add a neighborhood or a year on the second line to make it their own.
