Picking a gift for a department chair
A department chair usually started out as a faculty member who was good at the work and then got handed a stack of schedules, budget memos and committee meetings nobody else wanted. They spend their days pulled between teaching, advising, hiring and defending their department upstairs, and they rarely get thanked for any of it. A gift that acknowledges the job itself lands well here. Put Department Chair on a shirt or mug and add the department or the school underneath, the way you'd write it on a name tag. Chairs also tend to be the person colleagues bring coffee to during finals or budget season, so a mug that's clearly theirs fits the routine. Add their name if you want it personal. If you're shopping for a whole department to thank the chair together, the Team Shop lets you order one design with each colleague's name on their own shirt.
Department Chair gift questions
Can I add the department or school name?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so type the department, school or college there. The preview updates so you can check the spacing first.
Is this a good gift for someone who just became chair?
It can be. A new chair often gets a mug or tee with their new title, marking the step up from faculty member to the person running the department.
Can I order for the whole department at once?
Yes. In the Team Shop, pick one design, paste the names of everyone chipping in, and choose a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
Are there designs for kids or babies?
Kids tees and a baby onesie are available for this title, so you can use the product filter to see them if the gift is for a family member.
What sizes do the department chair shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a department chair gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
