Gifts from Dickens
Dickens is a city in Texas, a small place in the Panhandle that most people only drive through on the way to somewhere else. The name is also the surname of a famous novelist, so a Dickens shirt can read two ways, and that's worth keeping in mind before you order. Someone from Dickens, Texas or someone who grew up there will likely want the town name on a tee or hoodie, with a second line for a year or a family name. A town that size tends to make people proud in quiet ways, so a shirt they can wear to the feed store or a high school reunion fits. If the recipient is a reader rather than a Texan, the literary reference may matter more, and you can decide which Dickens you mean by choosing the design and second line. Either way, a mug or tee with their own word on it is a gift that feels chosen rather than grabbed off a rack.
