Picking a gift for a digital archivist
A digital archivist spends their days deciding what gets kept: scanned letters, born-digital files, email, web pages that would otherwise vanish. It's careful, quiet work, and most of it happens out of sight, so a gift that acknowledges the job tends to land well. A soft tee they can wear to the office or on a weekend, a hoodie for the chilly reading room or the long drive to a conference, a mug for the desk where they do their metadata cleanup. Putting the word itself on the gift tells them you know what they do, which is rarer than you'd think. If they work at a library, university or historical society, a second line with the institution's name or a specialty like audiovisual or digital preservation makes it feel specific to their work. Use the preview to check the spacing before you order.
