Picking a gift for a director lighting
A director of lighting is the person who decides how a show looks, from the wash on a stage to the glow of a city in a film. They spend long hours in tech rehearsals, up on ladders and at the board, often working in the dark while everyone else is in the spotlight. A gift that acknowledges that craft tends to land best. A tee or hoodie with their title on it is something they can wear to load-in or to the opening night party. A mug is useful for the long overnight focus sessions, when the coffee is doing most of the work. For a designer who's also a parent or a new hire, a baby onesie or a kids shirt with their title can be a playful nod to the family behind the job. Type the title in exactly as they use it, or add a second line with a company name or production if you know it, and the preview will show you how it sits before you order.
Director Lighting gift questions
Can I add a company or theater name under the title?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type a theater, company, or production name there. Check the preview to make sure the spacing looks right.
Are there designs for lighting directors in different fields?
The designs use the title you type, so the wording follows whatever the person calls their role, whether that's theater, film, or live events.
Which product works best for someone who works in dark venues?
A hoodie or dark tee tends to suit people who work in dim, cold spaces, while a mug is handy for long hours at the board.
What sizes do the director lighting shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a director lighting gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
