Picking a gift for a director major gifts
A director of major gifts spends most of their week in conversations that are really about trust: meeting donors over coffee, asking for six-figure commitments, and thanking people for gifts that will outlast the campaign. They're often the one who stays late before a gala and the one who sends the handwritten note after it. A gift for them should acknowledge that quiet, relationship-heavy work. A dark tee they can wear to a donor dinner, a hoodie for the early-morning drive between cultivation meetings, or a mug for the office where the calendar is always full all say you see what they do. Add their title, or their development office or institution if you know it, and the shirt becomes specific to their career instead of a generic job tee. Many fundraisers measure success by the gifts that come in years later, so a piece they'll keep for a long time fits the role well.
Director Major Gifts gift questions
Can I add the institution name under the job title?
