Picking a gift for a director of technical operations
A director of technical operations usually sits between the engineers who build things and the people who have to keep them running, so their week is a mix of incident calls, vendor negotiations, capacity planning and far too many status meetings. The gifts that land are the ones that acknowledge that juggling. A tee for the weekend, a hoodie for the cold data center floor or the early on-call shift, a mug that survives the long stretch between the first coffee and the last. Type the title as it appears on their business card, or shorten it to Director of Tech Ops if the full name is a mouthful. Adding their company's name or the year they took the job turns a generic title shirt into something they can point to with pride. If you're buying for a whole operations team, the Team Shop lets you order one design with everyone's name on their own shirt, which tends to get more use than another round of donuts.
