Picking a gift for a doctoral fellow
A doctoral fellow is someone who has committed years to research, usually with a stipend that barely covers rent and a lab bench that becomes a second home. They spend long days running experiments, rewriting the same paragraph for the fifth time, and waiting on results that may take months. A gift that acknowledges the grind lands well: a hoodie for the cold walk to a late-night lab session, a mug for the coffee that fuels the writing sprints, or a tee that tells the world what they're working toward. Adding their field, their program, or the year they started makes the item theirs. Many fellows also mark milestones like passing a qualifying exam or defending a dissertation, and a design with that date can mean more than any generic graduate-student shirt. Keep the wording simple and let the personal detail do the work.
Doctoral Fellow gift questions
What should I put on a doctoral fellow shirt?
Most people use the title itself as the main line, then add a second line for their name, field, or program year. Type your choice into the text box and the preview will show how it fits.
Is a mug or a hoodie the better gift?
It depends on the season and the setting. Hoodies suit the cold months and long hours in the lab, while a mug works well for a desk they use every day.
Can I add their university or department?
Yes, you can type a department, program, or university name into a second line. Keep it short so the design stays readable on the shirt or mug.
What sizes do the doctoral fellow shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a doctoral fellow gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
