Gifts from Drummond Island
Drummond Island is a small place in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, reached by ferry across the St. Marys River, so the people who call it home tend to be proud of how far off the beaten path it sits. A gift with the island's name is for someone who knows the drive to the dock, the quiet winters, and the feeling of being somewhere most people only pass through. The best gifts here feel personal rather than touristy: a tee for a summer weekend out on the water, a hoodie for the cold months when the island gets quiet, or a mug for the kitchen of someone who misses it after moving away. Since island life is close-knit, a name or year on the second line can make the piece feel like theirs. If you're not sure how much they'd want a shirt with the island name, a mug is a low-pressure choice that still says you noticed where they come from.
