Gifts from East Flat Rock
East Flat Rock is a small unincorporated community in Henderson County, in the mountains of western North Carolina, and the people who call it home tend to hold on to it hard. A shirt with the place name is how a transplant tells friends where they really come from, and how a native marks the spot they never left. It fits the way people here talk about their county: the lake, the hills, the drive into town that takes longer than it should. Put the name on a dark tee for a weekend hike, or a hoodie for the first cold morning on the porch. A mug with East Flat Rock suits the kitchen table where the morning news gets read. If you're shopping for someone who moved away, the gift says you remember the place they're missing. Add a second line with a year or a street if you want it to feel more specific.
