Gifts from East Los Angeles
East Los Angeles is a place with a strong identity, and people who grew up there or whose families built their lives in the neighborhood carry it everywhere they go. The community has deep roots in Mexican American history, with long-running murals, family taquerias, churches and lowrider culture that people still talk about with real pride. A gift that names the neighborhood tells the recipient you know where they come from, whether they still live there or have moved across the country. Many designs for this word come in both light and dark shirts, plus hoodies and mugs, so you can match the piece to how they spend their days. Add a second line with a street, a school, a graduating year or a family name to make the shirt theirs. For someone who has moved away, a mug or hoodie is often the everyday reminder they keep reaching for.
