Gifts from East York
East York is a former borough of Toronto, amalgamated into the city in 1998, and it still has a strong local identity. People who grew up there tend to talk about the neighborhoods, the parks and the way the community feels small even inside a big city. A shirt that says East York is how they claim that place, whether they live there now or moved away years ago. It suits a homecoming, a reunion with old friends from school, or a gift for someone who misses the streets they grew up on. Add a second line for a street, a school or the year they left, and the design becomes theirs rather than a generic city tee. For the one who moved away, a mug or hoodie is a daily reminder of where they're from. For a newborn with East York roots, a onesie is a gentle way to start their story there.
