Picking a gift for an ecologist
Ecologists spend their days counting things most people never look at: pollinators in a meadow, sediment in a stream, the stubborn invasive plant that keeps coming back. Field work means muddy boots, early starts and a lot of time outdoors in weather nobody planned for, so the gifts they tend to keep are the ones built for that life. A soft tee for the field, a hoodie for cold mornings at the trailhead, a mug for the long drive to the next survey site. What makes a gift land is the detail that shows you know the work. Add their specialty to the second line, something like wetlands, forest, marine or urban, and the shirt stops being a generic nature tee and becomes theirs. If you're buying for a research team, one design with each person's name on their own shirt works better than a pack of identical stickers. A good time to order is around Earth Day in late April, when a lot of ecologists are fielding questions and wearing their work on their sleeves.
Ecologist gift questions
Can I add a specialty like wetlands or marine to the shirt?
Yes. Many designs have a second line. Type the specialty there and the preview will show you how it sits under the main word before you order.
When is Earth Day?
Earth Day falls on April 22 every year, so it's a natural occasion for an ecologist gift. Order a couple of weeks ahead if you want it in hand by then.
What's a good gift for a student starting an ecology degree?
A tee or hoodie with their program name and graduation year works well. It marks the start of the path and it's something they'll actually wear in the field.
Can I order shirts for my whole research team?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: choose one design, paste a list of names, and pick a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
What sizes do the ecologist shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does an ecologist gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
