Electric Eel gifts for the people who love them
Electric eels are not really eels at all. They're knifefish from the Amazon and Orinoco basins, and they can put out a shock strong enough to stun prey, which is the kind of fact that makes an animal lover light up. A shirt with Electric Eel on it suits the kid who won't stop talking about the aquarium, the biology student with a dog-eared textbook, or the friend who has a running joke about electricity and their personality. Their gifts tend to be quirky and a little science-minded, so skip the generic animal print and lean into the odd details: the shock, the freshwater habitat, the strange way they swim. A kids tee is a natural pick for a young naturalist, and an 11 oz mug works well on a desk full of notes. Add a second line with a name or a year if you want it to feel like theirs.
Electric Eel gift questions
Are electric eels actually eels?
No. Electric eels belong to the knifefish group and are more closely related to catfish than to true eels. They live in South American rivers and can generate powerful electric shocks. Many people still call them eels, so the name is common even though it isn't technically accurate.
Can I add a name or a year to an Electric Eel shirt?
Many designs have a second line for a name, a year or a short note. Type it into the text box and check the preview before you order.
