Gifts from Elm City
Elm City is the nickname New Haven has carried for generations, a nod to the elm trees that once lined its streets and to the city's Yale-shaped identity. People who grew up there, or went to school there and stayed, tend to wear the nickname with real pride. A shirt that says Elm City is a quiet way to say where you're from, and it works just as well for someone who moved away years ago and still calls it home. For a student or recent grad, a hoodie makes a practical gift for the cold months on campus. A mug suits the person who wants their hometown on the kitchen counter every morning. Add a second line for a neighborhood, a street, or a graduation year to make the shirt theirs rather than a generic city souvenir.
