Gifts from Fence Lake
Fence Lake is a small place, and the people who grew up there tend to hold onto it. Someone who left for college or work, or who moved away after years of visiting, often keeps a strong tie to a town this size, where everyone knows the local roads and the neighbors remember your family. A shirt with the town name is how they bring that home with them, whether they're wearing it on a weekend drive or at a city job where nobody else has heard of it. Because the place is small, a design with the name feels personal in a way a bigger city shirt doesn't. Add a second line with a graduation year, a street, or a family name, and the shirt becomes about their own part of the town. For the person who moved away, a mug with Fence Lake on it is a daily reminder of where they're from, and a hoodie is good for cold mornings on the way to somewhere new.
