Picking a gift for a field spec
A field spec is someone who writes the technical specifications that engineers and contractors build from, often out in the field, checking what was actually installed against what was drawn. The work is detail-heavy and frequently done on site, in weather, with a clipboard and a hard hat rather than a desk. Gifts that land for this person tend to be practical and a little rugged: a hoodie for cold mornings on the job, a dark tee for dusty site days, a mug for the truck. Put their title on it, field spec, and add their company name or the project they're on if you know it. You can also add their credential or certification if they hold one, typed as their credential, so the shirt reflects what they actually do. For a whole crew, the Team Shop lets you print one design with each person's name on their own shirt.
Field Spec gift questions
Can I add a credential after the job title?
Yes. Type it into the second line, such as their certification or license, and the preview will show you how it sits under the title before you order.
Can I add a company or project name?
Many designs have a second line, so you can type a company name, a project, or a crew name there. It's a good way to make the shirt specifically theirs.
Which product is best for someone who works outdoors?
The dark T-shirt and hoodie suit outdoor work well, since the darker colors hide dust better than light fabric and the hoodie covers up on cold mornings.
Are there designs for kids too?
There are a few kids tee designs for field spec. They can be handy if a family member wants to share the same job title.
What sizes do the field spec shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a field spec gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
