Gifts from Fort Defiance
Fort Defiance is a small town in northern Arizona, the seat of Apache County and the heart of the Navajo Nation's eastern reach, a place with long roots and a close-knit feel. The people who move away or come back to it often carry a strong sense of home, and a Fort Defiance shirt says that out loud at a family reunion, a college campus far away or a visit home for the holidays. Because it's a small place, a shirt or mug with the town name tends to start conversations and get noticed by someone who knows the area. Add a second line for the high school class, the year they left or the family name, and it becomes their own piece of home rather than a generic souvenir. For a parent or grandparent who stayed behind, a mug with the town name is a daily reminder of where they're from.
