Picking a gift for a genetic counselor
Genetic counselors spend their days translating test results and family histories into plain language for patients who are often scared, confused or both. Much of the job is careful listening, pedigree charts, and the hard conversations that come after a diagnosis, and most of it happens without anyone outside the field knowing what it involves. A gift for one lands best when it acknowledges that work without being solemn about it. A soft tee for a long day of consults, a hoodie for the cold drive between clinics, or a mug for the first coffee before a full clinic schedule are all practical. Put their name on it, and if you know the credential they earned, such as MS or CGC, add it so the piece reads as theirs. Graduation season in May and the months after a board result are the times people most often order for a new counselor.
Genetic Counselor gift questions
Can I add a credential like MS or CGC to the shirt?
Yes. Type it into the text box on its own line or after their name. The preview updates so you can check the spacing before you order.
Is there a specific day to celebrate genetic counselors?
Genetic counselors are often recognized during the spring, but the exact timing varies by organization. A graduation or a new job is a good occasion to give one any time of year.
Can I order matching shirts for a whole genetics team?
Yes. Use the Team Shop to choose one design, paste the team's names, and pick a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
What's a good gift for a counselor who has just passed their certification?
A hoodie or tee with their credential and the year they passed is personal and marks the milestone clearly without being too formal.
What sizes do the genetic counselor shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a genetic counselor gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
