Picking a gift for a graduate assistant
A graduate assistant is usually a grad student who teaches sections, grades stacks of papers, runs office hours and somehow still has to finish a thesis. They're underpaid, overbooked and often the only person in the department who knows where the copy machine key is. The gifts that land are the ones that acknowledge the juggling: a tee for the long grading session, a hoodie for the library at midnight, a mug for the office they share with three other people who all claim the coffee maker. Put their name on it, or the department or program name, so it feels like theirs and not a generic campus shirt. If you're buying for a whole cohort of assistants, one design with each person's name on their own shirt makes a better end-of-term gift than another round of donuts. Many programs wrap up in May and December, so those are the busiest times to order.
Graduate Assistant gift questions
Can I add my graduate assistant's department or program name?
Yes. Many designs have a second line. Type the department, program or area of study there and check the preview before you order.
Is a graduate assistant shirt a good end-of-term gift?
It can be. Programs often wrap up in May and December, so a shirt with their name and the term or year gives them something they'll actually wear through the next round of grading.
Can I order for several assistants at once?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: choose one design, paste each person's name, and pick a size for each one. Every shirt prints with its own name.
Are there designs for a graduate assistant who has a new baby?
Baby onesies are available in one design for this word. Many people buy one for a grad student who's juggling a newborn along with their assistantship.
What sizes do the graduate assistant shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a graduate assistant gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
