Picking a gift for a hand tapper
A hand tapper works with their hands and their ear, usually with the tuning of a drum, a bell, a cymbal, or a hand-struck instrument, depending on the craft. Whatever the specific trade, it's the kind of job that rewards patience and a steady touch, and it's rarely the kind of work that gets public thanks. A tee or hoodie that names the trade is a way of saying you noticed. Put their name on it, or add the shop or studio they work out of, and it becomes theirs. A mug works for the bench at the start of the day, when the coffee is the one thing they've got time for before the first piece comes off the rack. For a hand tapper who spends long hours alone with the work, a small, clearly personal gift often says more than a generic one ever could.
