Gifts from Hode
Hode is a small place name that doesn't show up in the usual travel guides, so the people who live there or came from there usually know exactly what it means to them: a particular street, a stretch of the map, a hometown nobody else has heard of. That's the kind of gift that lands hardest, because it says you know where they're from. A tee or hoodie with the name on it is a quick way to show it, and an 11 oz mug works well for the kitchen of someone who's moved away and still talks about home. Kids' shirts and baby onesies suit families who want the next generation to carry the name too. Because Hode is a fairly uncommon word, a good way to make it theirs is to add a second line: a street, a year they moved, or a nickname the family uses.
