Gifts for Home Appliance Teches

Picking a gift for a home appliance tech

Home appliance techs spend their days crawling behind washers, diagnosing ice makers and coaxing dryers back to life, usually in someone else's kitchen. The gifts that land are the ones that acknowledge the work: a sturdy tee for the van, a hoodie for the cold garage or crawlspace, a mug for the coffee they drink between calls. Put their name on the design, and add their shop or specialty on a second line if you know it, such as refrigeration, laundry or dishwashers. That turns a generic trade shirt into something that's clearly theirs. If you're buying for a whole crew, one design with every tech's name on their own shirt is a better team gift than another lunch order. Many techs also appreciate a gift that's useful at work, so a light tee for summer service calls and a dark one for greasy jobs covers both.
