Gifts from Hoodsport
Hoodsport is a small town on the Hood Canal in Washington, where the water is calm, the evenings are quiet and most people know their neighbors by name. A gift for someone from a place this small has to say where they're from without needing an explanation. A shirt with Hoodsport across the chest is what a former resident wears when they're back for the summer or the holidays, and it's what a current resident wears to the local fair, the marina or the ferry dock on a cold morning. The tiny-town angle works in your favor here: people from places like this tend to hold on to the name hard, and they like being recognized for it. Pick the product that fits their routine. A hoodie for the damp Pacific Northwest mornings, a mug for the porch, or a tee for the friend who moved away and still says they're from Hoodsport when people ask.
