Gifts from Juneau
Juneau is the capital of Alaska, and it's the only US state capital you can't drive to. Most people who live there arrived by boat or plane, and a lot of them stayed because of the mountains, the rain and the glaciers within reach of town. A Juneau shirt is how they signal they're part of that: the one who hikes Mount Roberts on weekends, the one who works for the state, or the one who moved away and still talks about the fishing. Because the city sits between water and steep mountains, a hoodie fits the cool, wet weather better than a thin tee. For the transplant missing home, a mug with Juneau on it is a small daily reminder. Add a neighborhood, a year, or a nickname underneath to make it feel personal rather than like a souvenir.
