Gifts from Lingo
Lingo is the kind of word a person has to explain to the people back home. It can mean a city people have moved to and never quite settled into, or a place a shopper knows from a road trip, a family story or a few years of living there. A shirt with Lingo on it gives the recipient something to point at when someone asks where they're from, and it works for anyone who has a real connection to the place. Since the word names a city, the best gifts usually pair the name with a detail only the recipient would recognize, such as the year they arrived or the neighborhood they call home. Many designs have a second line for exactly that, so you can make the shirt specific without changing the design. If you're not sure how much the recipient cares about the place, a mug or a tee is a lighter choice than a hoodie.
