Gifts for Lumber Yard Workers

Picking a gift for a lumber yard worker

Lumber yard workers spend their days lifting stacks of boards, running a forklift through the yard, and keeping track of what's going out the gate on which truck. Early starts, dusty hands and a lot of time outdoors mean the gifts they actually use are the practical ones. A sturdy tee for the job, a hoodie for the cold mornings before the sun clears the rafters, or a mug for the coffee that goes cold while they're loading. The lumber yard crowd tends to be proud of the work, so a shirt that names the trade, such as lumber yard worker or yard crew, reads as respect rather than a joke. Add their name or the yard's crew line on a second line and it becomes theirs. If you're buying for a whole crew, one design with each person's name on their own shirt is a better gift than another cooler of drinks.
