Gifts from Lummi Island
Lummi Island is a small island in the San Juan area of Washington state, reached by ferry from Gooseberry Point near Bellingham, and most of the people who call it home have a strong sense of place. Island life means a slower pace, a short commute to the water, and a community where everyone knows whose boat is whose. A shirt or mug with Lummi Island on it is how a longtime resident, a summer regular or someone who just moved over the water shows where their heart is. Because the island is small, the name carries meaning that a broader city name doesn't. You can keep it simple with just the island name on the front, or add a second line with a year they arrived, a favorite cove, or the name of their home. A hoodie suits the chilly ferry crossing, and a mug fits the kitchen window with a view of the water.
