Gifts from Macdoel
Macdoel is a small town in Siskiyou County in far northern California, and the people who call it home tend to be proud of it in a quiet way. A shirt that says Macdoel is for the person who grew up on a town street where everyone knows the family name, or for someone who moved away and still gets homesick for the place. Because it's a small place, a Macdoel shirt tends to be worn for a reason: a reunion, a visit back, a high school or community event, or just a way of saying where you're from when people ask. A hoodie suits the colder months, and a mug is a good everyday reminder for the transplant. Add a second line with a year or a street or whatever the person actually connects with, and the gift stops being a town name and becomes a piece of their life.
