Gifts from Magalia
Magalia is a small town in the Sierra foothills of Northern California, up above the Feather River canyon and not far from Paradise. If you don't know it well, treat the place as the thing to build the gift around rather than trying to describe it. A Magalia shirt is for someone who grew up there, moved away and still calls it home, or who simply loves the hills and pines of that part of the state. Small towns give people a particular kind of pride, and a shirt with the town name on it is a way of saying where they're from without a long explanation. Most designs here have a second line, so you can add a year, a street, a school mascot or a family name underneath. For a hoodie, the cooler months suit it, and for a mug, the first coffee of the morning does the work.
