Gifts from Makawao
Makawao is a small upcountry town on Maui, set on the slopes of Haleakalā with cooler air and wide views over the island. It's known as paniolo country, the cowboy heartland of Maui, and its wooden storefronts and rodeo grounds have a laid-back, rural feel that people from the coast often find a welcome change. A Makawao shirt suits someone who's lived there, someone who visited and fell for the slower pace, or someone who just loves Maui's upcountry side. Think of the everyday rhythm of the place: morning coffee in the cool air, a trip down to the beach, a long drive back up the mountain road. A tee, hoodie or mug with the town name carries that feeling home, and it's the kind of gift that tells the recipient you noticed where they feel most like themselves.
Makawao gift questions
Can I add a line under Makawao, like a street or a year?
Many designs have a second line for a year, a street or a nickname. Open any design and type it in, and the preview will show you how it sits before you order.
Do the designs use any Hawaiian words or symbols?
The designs are built around the town name you enter. If you want a specific Hawaiian word or phrase, you can type it into the text box on a design that has a second line.
Is there a Makawao design for a group, like a family trip?
Yes. The Team Shop lets you choose one design and paste a list of names, with a size for each person, so a whole group can match.
What sizes do the makawao shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a Makawao gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
