Gifts from Mare Island
Mare Island is a place people hold onto. Those who grew up on it, or worked the shipyard there, tend to talk about it the way other people talk about a family name. A shirt with Mare Island on it is a way to say where you're from without a long explanation, and it's the kind of thing that gets noticed at a reunion, a pickup game or a hometown visit. If you're buying for someone who left and still misses it, a mug reads as a small daily reminder, and a hoodie is good for those cold mornings when they want to feel close to home. Add a second line with a year or a neighborhood detail they'll recognize, and the design becomes theirs rather than a generic place name. For a family with several members tied to the island, the Team Shop lets you put one design on everyone's shirt with each person's own name.
