Picking a gift for mate
A mate is the friend who's been there through everything, the one who shows up with a six-pack and no questions asked. In Britain, Australia and New Zealand the word is the everyday word for a close friend, a flatmate, a workmate or a sports buddy, so a shirt that says Mate carries a little accent and a lot of warmth. The gifts that land with a mate are the ones that make them laugh first and feel seen second. A tee for the weekend, a hoodie for the chilly match or the bonfire, a mug for the morning coffee they'd swear is theirs. Put their name or a shared in-joke on the second line and it stops being a generic slogan and becomes a small, private nod between the two of you.
Mate gift questions
Is mate only used for friends?
Not always. In British and Australian English it can mean a close friend, a flatmate or a coworker, and it's also used as a casual greeting. Plenty of people use it for almost anyone they like, so pick the design that fits how you two talk to each other.
Can I add a name or nickname under Mate?
Yes. Most designs have a second line, so you can type their name, a nickname or a short in-joke there and check the preview before ordering.
Are there mate designs for a whole group of friends?
Yes. The Team Shop prints one design for a group: paste the list of names and pick a size for each person, and every shirt gets its own name.
What sizes do the mate shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a mate gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
