Gifts from Meppen
Meppen is a small town in the Emsland region of Lower Saxony in northwestern Germany, close to the Dutch border. People from there tend to carry their hometown with them, whether they stayed, moved to a bigger city for work, or emigrated. A shirt or mug with Meppen on it is a simple way to mark where someone comes from, and it lands well with family who live far away, friends who visited once, or anyone who spent time in the area and wants a reminder. Because the town is small and not widely known outside Germany, the most meaningful choice is usually one that adds a personal detail: a family name, the year they left, or the year they visited. Pick the product that fits their everyday life, a hoodie for cold mornings or a mug for the desk, and let the town name do the rest.
