Gifts from Minidoka
Minidoka is a place a lot of people only know from history books, and for the families who lived there it's a name tied to a hard chapter. The Minidoka War Relocation Center in south-central Idaho held Japanese Americans during World War II, and many former residents and their descendants still come back to remember it. A shirt or mug with Minidoka on it can be a way to honor that history, especially when the design is kept simple and sincere. If you're buying for someone with a family connection, consider adding a line that names their family or the year they were there, since that's what makes it theirs. For someone who has visited the site or studied it, a Minidoka tee or hoodie is a quiet way to show you took the history seriously. Keep the tone respectful and the wording plain, and let the name do the talking.
