Gifts from Mount Desert
Mount Desert is the island town on the Maine coast that most people know through Acadia National Park, and a lot of the people who live there treat the place as home first and a destination second. A gift with the name on it suits someone who spends summers rowing out at dawn, winters watching the harbor freeze, or who simply can't stop talking about Bar Harbor's lobster rolls. Because the town is small and its identity is tied so closely to the water and the woods, a shirt or mug reads as a statement of where someone belongs. Add the year they moved there, their harbor, or the trail they hike most, and the design becomes theirs. For someone who has left, a Mount Desert mug is the easiest way to keep the island on the kitchen counter.
