Gifts from Ouaquaga
Ouaquaga is a small hamlet in the Town of Colesville in Broome County, New York, on the Susquehanna River, and the name comes from the Oneida and Mohawk peoples' language. Because it's such a small place, people who grew up there or whose families have roots in the area often feel a strong attachment to it, and a shirt with the name is a way to say where they're from when a bigger town would just get a shrug. A tee or hoodie suits a homecoming, a family reunion or a local festival, and a mug works well for someone who moved away and misses the river valley. Since the place is small and the name is unusual, the most meaningful version is the one with their own detail on the second line, such as a family name, a graduation year or the year they moved away. The design is easy to preview, so you can check how the spelling and the second line look before you order.
