Picking a gift for a postdoctoral fellow
A postdoctoral fellow is usually on a short contract, working long hours in a lab or on a research project while job hunting for the next position. They've already survived a PhD, so a gift that acknowledges the grind without being sappy lands well. A hoodie for the cold lab or the late-night data run is practical, and a mug for the bench or the office tells them the work is noticed. Personalizing matters here: add their field, their institution's town, or the year they started, and the shirt becomes about them rather than a generic science joke. Postdocs often move between cities for each appointment, so a design with their own name or research area travels with them better than any souvenir. Many fellows also finish on a deadline, so a gift that arrives in time for a defense or a job announcement can mean more than a bigger one later.
Postdoctoral Fellow gift questions
Can I add my fellow's research area or institution to the design?
Many designs have a second line. Type their field, lab, or year there and check the live preview before you order.
Is postdoctoral fellow a title that fits on a shirt?
Yes. It's a common job title, and the design shows the full phrase, so it reads clearly on a tee, hoodie, or mug.
Can I order for a whole research group?
Yes. Pick one design in the Team Shop, paste the list of names, and choose a size for each person.
What sizes do the postdoctoral fellow shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a postdoctoral fellow gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
